Have you ever wished you had a clearer understanding of the progression of a ballet class. Well here is it. Although there are a number of variations to this theme. This may just help you grasp the order at ballet class.

These combinations would be done right (with the left hand on the barre) and left (with the right hand on the barre).

Barre

Warm-Up

Plie

Tendu: First and Fifth

Degage: First and or Fifth

Ronde jambe (stretch)

Frappe

Fondu

Grande allegro/Adagio (stretch)

Adagio(Stretch)/Grande allegro

Centre

Port de bras

Tendu

Adagio

Pirouette

Waltz pirouette

Small warm up jump (en changement)

Medium Jump

Petite allegro

Grande allegro

Fouette turns (ballerina’s)

A la seconde turns (danseur)

There you have it, in a very basic order to your ballet class. Hope it helps, have a stellar day..
