Ren and Du in Ten

As part of the Queer Qi cultivation technique series, it is time we discuss two channels of energy.  I will be using the words “channels, vessels, or meridians.”  These words are all interchangeable with each other in the Queer Qi series.

When we focus on our breathing, there are two meridians that we can imagine and draw focus on mentally, visually. These meridians flow along the mid-line of the body.  The mid-line of the body is the line that splits our right side from our left side.  In the Queer Qi flow the mid-line has a few facets to it. Two of those aspects we will focus on in this blog.

One of these channels of Queer Qi is called the Ren Mai “REN-my” translated into Conception vessel. This particular meridian comes up the front of the body.  The second is called Du Mai “DEW-my” translated as the Governing vessels. And that channel comes up the back of the body.  This would make up the cosmic orbit breathing video.  The microcosmic orbit breathing technique, is fitting to how these two meridians flow naturally.

Like rivers this Queer Qi flows up from the peritoneum. One rising from the front the other coming up the back along the spine.  If you have watched the Cosmic Orbit. And or the Micro Cosmic Orbit breathing video’s. You may have a better visual understanding of Queer Qi flow.

In watching the Micro Cosmic Orbit breathing video. You will see that both of these channels of Queer Qi end near or on the mouth. The Governing channels end on the upper lip, while the conception channel ends on or near the lower lip.

Now when focusing during any breathing technique. We can image these rivers of energy flowing through the center of the body.  Allowing our mind, body and soul to feel without touching.
